Ten Questions Concerning Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Models: The Development and Applications

In the past two decades, with advances in data collection and analytical techniques tools, there has been a significant increase research on indoor environmental quality (IEQ) assessment. To better understand relationships between overall IEQ performance individual aspects, namely, air quality, thermal comfort, acoustic visual models have developed by many previous studies. this paper, proposed literature period from 2001 to 2022 are examined summarized into ten questions, including but not limited indicator selection, collection, analysis methods, interpretation, implication. The answers aim provide insight current studies identify gaps for future research. It found that existing differed different building types or occupants. compare of various buildings other countries, standardized protocols necessary, selection aspects/indicators their corresponding objective measurement strategies subjective survey methods. addition, approaches used develop must be unified. Moreover, criteria aspects should provided. This study is first comprehensive investigation all steps involved model development. these questions can seen as practical instructions establishing an improved, standardized, repeatable assessment model.
